Gear Learning is part of the Wisconsin Center for Education Research in the University of Wisconsin-Madison's School of Education
My name is Tiffany Herder and I am a graduate researcher for Gear Learning. Prior to coming to UW, I worked in online learning as a curriculum and instructional designer. I dedicated my work to removing barriers to learning and designing interactive, engaging, and fun learning experiences aligned with purposeful, relevant outcomes. I love the excitement of brainstorming new ideas for learning experiences and the thrill of seeing those visions coming to life. I am currently a graduate student in the Learning Sciences program. I am really interested in integrating empirical research strategies into the design process and uncovering the affordances and constraints of games as an effective medium for learning.
